Catechists & Upper Room Small Group Leaders
As Christians we are called to echo the call of Christ to all that we meet, espeically to our families and children. If you have a talent for teaching or feel called to assist in any way with the Faith Formation Program from grades Pre-K to 8th Grade, please contact Holly Smith at hsmith@stsmarthaandmaryparish.org or by calling 724-444-1971 EXT. 115. We offer classes on Sundays, Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays. The weekly time committment would be an estimated 2 hours. If you feel called to assist with middle school or prefer a less formal setting, you can become an Upper Room Small Group Leader. You would lead discussion questions for each session with a small group of middle schoolers. Our Upper Room sessions also offer Mass and a different speaker for each session. Join us to learn more about your faith as well! Upper Room meets 2x per month on Sundays from 4-6pm.
Edge Core Team
If you are interested in helping at Upper Room, Edge Nights, or Service Events for our middle schoolers ranging in grades 7th-8th, please contact Don Ruby at druby@stsmarthaandmaryparish.org.Time committements and events vary. Our program runs from September-May with additional summer retreats.
Lifeteen Core Team

Baptismal Prep
Catechists are invited to lead new parents for a session explaining the sacrament of Baptism and their responsibility in training their children in the practice of the faith. If you feel called to lead these sessions, please contact Mary Jordan at mjordan@stsmarthaandmaryparish.org or call 724-444-1971 EXT. 112. Training will be provided.
RCIA Team
To welcome new members into the faith, the RCIA team provides community, catechesis, and hospitality. As a community many gifts are needed to journey with these inquriers.
